I love meeting new potential clients and growing our business is dependent on creating relationships . Unfortunately , not every prospect I meet is a potential client as there may not be a fit for them or us . When you are in growth mode it is difficult to say to yourself " no this is not a good fit with this individual ". I attended a course by Terry Ledden , Sandler Sales Institute , which was one of the best programs I have ever taken . In particular, the up front agreement which we now use would have saved me many hours over the last 31 years of being a professional advisor . My passion for helping people at times can be hard to take for some that do not know me so it is quite Ok for them to say no to me if they feel there is no fit !
I would rather spend time with people who trust me and appreciate what I put into solving their needs .
