Canadian economy is not healthy as some may think !

We are not in same situation as many countries but let's not bring out the party hats . Provinces like Ontario and Quebec need to get their economy and budgets in order . Cash can not be flowing for misspending and waste . Federal government needs to cut their expenditures . Yes cuts hurt but must be done . Small business needs incentives to grow and employ people to pay tax for all the services we need . We can not all be blaming big corporations as they need to answer to their shareholders who also demand profits . So let's stop whining and dig in together we will grow !

Gas prices game is a money grab !

I am remembering when gas was 64 cents a litre and we were all getting upset and now we are just taking high gas prices as a reality of life . Unrest in a certain country today and tomorrow price of gas increases , that is one of the craziest things we have been conditioned to believe to be the norm When are our governments going to step in to put some reasonable system to moderate increases as well as make pricing more reasonable ? There has to be a better way to manage the resources and stop hammering the end user , you and I , under the belief that there is a shortage of gas .

Election or no election ?

We may be going into another election and my belief is all we will get is another minority government . We need to focus on our economy and stop focusing on things which are like a wrinkle on a elephant's but . Why is there unrest all over the world ? There are a number of reasons but two that come to mind are freedom and people do not have the ability to get ahead in life . We are better off then most of the other countries in the world so why not keep the momentum going and work together  . Would it not be nice if all the parties were able to put their differences aside for a year and focus on what is best for all Canadians ?

BEING POLITICALLY CORRECT !

What has happened to Christian's for being politically correct ? This year like no other , I see what has happened in our society . People are concerned to say Merry Christmas with fear of offending someone . Businesses have made their employees use Season Greetings instead , wow ! Last time I checked it is CHRISTMAS TIME !

Business etiquette that people forget !

What is business etiquette ? It amazes me how people do not do things which are most of the time very simple : return phone calls , do not say thank you , do not help others , chose to try to get their way by being loud and rude . We owe it to each other as human beings to be polite as it can only lead to good things .

Ottawa Economy

I had the opportunity to be in attendance at Mayor's breakfast where a economist laid out the economic outlook locally , nationally and primarily US . To no ones surprise , we are attached at the hip to the US economy which stands to reason that we will follow their trends to recovery with several advantages . Our financial institution are in better shape due to in my estimation controls imposed on them by our government regulatory agencies . Ottawa is not being as effected as other cities due to the government employment which in times like this is good buffer . What about private industry ? What can we do to help ourselves ? Look to buy services from people in our community .

Prospering in tough times

We are going through tough times due to economy and this can also cause stress in our personal lives . Fear can cripple our ability to think and function . Fight the urge to give in and decide you will not participate in the recession . It will not make the economic conditions change for everyone but it will for you . Decide to change , improve , contribute to the world , take actionand most of all have FAITH in whichever God you believe in and  in yourself !
